Absence on the Day of an Activity Students who are absent from school for the entire day on the da y of a music performance, drama performance, dance, or any other school-sponsored after school or evening event will not be able to attend or participate in that event.
Immunizations. Immunizations protect the health of children against diseases. According to the Immunization of School Pupils Act (1990), students under the age of 18 must provide proof of up-to-date immunization against: diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, and rubella for school entry. Vaccinations against these diseases are free.
The purpose of the attendance policy of the Rockwood School District is to encourage regular school attendance. The Board of Education believes that regular and punctual attendance is an important factor in a student’s success in school. An integral part of the learning experience is the interaction between students and teachers.
